Jason Bouttell (Team Vision Racing- Silverhook) continued his impressive season by taking an emphatic victory by almost 10 minutes in the CTT Midland District Committee 50, while veteran Michelle Lee (PDQ Cycle Coaching) won the women’s event.
Bouttell, who finished silver medallist in the National 100 Championships last month, took his third open victory of the season in style.
The K10/50 course started and finished outside Princethorpe and consisted of two laps around which included out and back legs along the A45 and A445 in Warwickshire.
Bouttell, who turns 35 later this month, flew around the course in a winning time of one hour, 39 minutes and 56 seconds.
Fastest veteran Tim Wood (Team Echelon) led the challenge behind finishing second in 1-49-35 while Lee Williams (North Hampshire RC) took third clocking 1-51-09.
Quickest under-23 rider was Thomas Harrington (Abergavenny RC) in a time of 2-00-13.
Lee was equally as impressive in the women’s event clocking an average speed of 24.997 miles per hour to narrowly miss dipping under the two-hour mark in 2-00-01.
Marianne Holt (Team Bottrill) led the charge behind in second clocking 2-07-57 while Seanin Gilmore (Banbury Star Cyclists’ Club) rounded off the podium positions in 2-09-35.
