Please see below answers to some of the Frequently Asked Questions we receive. If the question you have isn’t included or you’d like any further help, please contact Support (support@cyclingtimetrials.org.uk) who will be happy to advise.
For information regarding online event entry you can download further information here
For a comprehensive overview of this addtional functionality, including Spindata and ResultSheet updates that support both Riders and Organisers, you can read all about in in our CTT Road Bike Launch 2023 NEWSLETTER, downloadable here
Organisers do officially have 28 days to submit the results, although many will do so within a few days of the event, but sometimes a delay is unavoidable. All the times need to be checked and it may be a problem occurred at the event of which riders aren’t aware. Please also remember that all organisers are volunteers and do have other commitments, such as family and work, as well.
When entering a TTT only ONE person needs to enter the team. First you will need to decide if you are going pay for the whole team or individually, the process is the same regardless. Then enter your details in the usual manner, press proceed and you will be asked for the second rider’s details, add their ID number to the “Add User (Click)” space and then click the red button. The second riders name, club and LTS will then appear. If your team mate has no relevant time (within the last 3 years) add an estimated time and a relevant date (within the last 12 months and doesn’t need to be accurate) and click the “I do not have any previous results that fit this criteria – This is an estimate” box.
If the event is for a 3-up or a 4-up TTT complete the above steps until the team is complete. You can also add a reserve (one reserve for a 2-up and 3-up, two reserves for a 4-up) in exactly the same manner. All reserves must appear on the start sheet. When these steps have been completed, click the green “proceed” button.
If you are paying individually your team mate(s) will receive an email to state that they have been entered for the event and to click the link in the email to complete payment. Also, please check your team mates know you have entered them, so they don’t double enter with another event.
To do this you will need to log on and then click on Discover on the black tab at the top of the website and then Clubs. From there, using the filter, you can search for your new club and make yourself a member of it. To delete the old one, click on your name on the top right of the website, then select My Clubs from the dropdown menu and you can remove any clubs you are no longer a member of. A rider may only change their first claim club or trade team once in any calendar year.
If you’ve entered an event and can no longer ride you can withdraw your own entry via the website before the closing date, entries can’t be withdrawn after the closing date. Ensure you are logged in, then click on your name in the top right... My Events > Completed Entries > Withdraw. This will automate a refund to the card used to enter. If it is after the closing date, please notify the organiser as it helps the timekeepers and to fill reserve slots and any late starts.
All the details you will need for an event are on the start sheet cover, to access go to the event on the website and then click on the blue Download Start Sheet button. This will download the cover sheet, please ensure you read this as it will include vital information such as local regulations, instructions for parking, etc.
If, for some reason, you haven’t received a start sheet notification please check the event on the website where you will find the start sheet uploaded. All start sheets go on to the CTT website. Also please check your spam mail as notifications can go into there, if they are in there, please make us a safe sender.
Yes. CTT is a separate company to UCI and has its own rules and regulations. For full details on the competitor’s machine please see Regulation 14. www.cyclingtimetrials.org.uk/articles/view/11
Yes, you will see that some events have a separate category for road bikes but not all. If there isn’t a road bike category you can still enter the event. The organiser may find it useful if you add a comment in the comment box to say you will be on a road bike.
If you don’t have an actual time from a CTT event, please enter an estimated time that you think you’ll be able to do on the day. For the date box just use the date you are entering the event, as that is when you are making the estimate. For hill climbs, add a 0 for position and again use the date of entry. If you wish, you can also add a comment in the box below to explain.
Again, this can be done online, you will need to be set up as a club official which will give you access to the Club Panel. If you don’t have access, please contact Support (support@cyclingtimetrials.org.uk) who will set you up and advise further
