Jake Hollins and Joanne Jago topped the podium as the fastest male and female respectively at the Chew Valley CC hill climb that took place on Smitham Hill near East Harptree in Somerset on Sunday morning.
Hollins (Bath Cycling Club) finished his run with a time of 5-14 to top the podium as the fastest rider on the day.
This was the Bath CC rider’s first victory on record with his only other previous result being the third-place finish he achieved at the Wyre Forest CRC 10 at the beginning of the month.
The 29-year-old will be looking to continue his good form over the coming weeks as he is next set to ride at the Southdown Velo 28 in mid-October.
Jamie Atkins (73 Degrees Bicycles WestSide Coaching RT) finished second with a time of 5-23, while Ted Cross (University of Bristol Cycling Club) finished third to complete the podium with a time of 5-26.
Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles CC) clocked a time of 6-51 to finish top of the podium in the women’s event respectively.
Jago has begun her hill climb season in good form making it three podium finishes from three events.
She finished third at the Salt and Sham CC hill climb last weekend and finished second at the Sodbury Cycle Sport event yesterday.
The Performance Cycles CC rider will be looking to build on her good form over the coming weeks and add more positive results to her record.
