Alex Royle and Keri Parton topped the men and women’s timesheets in The Racing Chance Foundation 25-mile open event on Saturday afternoon near Goostrey in Cheshire.
Royle (Manchester Bicycle Club) ended a run of second place finishes with a dominant display of one minute and 51 seconds.
The 26-year-old from Derbyshire clocked a winning time of 51-44 to secure his ninth win of the season so far.
He beat veteran Darren Maironis (Transition Race Team) and powered to his best finish since July.
Maironis’ time of 53-35 gave him his 12th podium finish in seventeen events on record in 2019.
Podiums have been harder to come by for Gavin McCloskey-Lambert (Manchester Wheelers) but finishing only 13 seconds behind Maironis in 53-48, McCloskey-Lambert tallied his third of the year, with one of those ending on the top step.
Keri Parton (Pro Vision Cycle Clothing) beat her team-mate Sarah Grant by 19 seconds.
Parton clocked 1-01-54 before Grant crossed the line six minutes later and luckily for Parton it would end in her seventh victory of the year as Grant clocked 1-02-13
Emily Martin (Weaver Valley CC) was just a second shy of removing Grant from second place crossing the line in 1-02-14.
