Keri Parton and Jack Brown were fastest female and male riders respectively at the Stretford Wheelers 10-mile time trial near Monks Heath in Cheshire on Saturday.
Parton, the 30-year-old who rides for Pro Vision Cycle Clothing, clocked 24-24 to win the women’s prize by 12 seconds from Weaver Valley CC rival Emily Martin, while Rhianna Parkinson (Salford CC) was third.
And in the men’s category Brown clocked 20-20, the 19-year-old ActiveEdge RT rider winning by 29 seconds from Alex Royle (Manchester BC) while Darren Maironis (Transition RT) was another 11 seconds back in third spot.
The popular J2/1 out and back course takes riders along the A537 from Monks Heath, through Chelford and Ollerton before turning just before Knutsford and heading back down.
Just 11 seconds further back in fourth spot was Adam Darby (Transition RT), while veteran Tony Greenhalgh (Team Chronomaster) was fifth with 21-29.
Brown is a rider in form, the Huddersfield-based teenager having won the Ilkley CC 10 the week before while he placed fifth in the tough Ely and District CC hardriders 25 last month.
He is next in action on Sunday, April 7, in the Ogmore Valley Wheelers 25 on the fast Rhigos course in South Wales, while on April 13 he returns to Yorkshire to ride the Otley CC 10, part of the Yorkshire SpoCo series.
And similarly, for Keri Parton this wasn’t her first victory in the women’s category. She was also the winner in the Manchester and District TTA 10 the week before.
Parton has entered the Burton and District CA 25 on April 13, as well as the Birkenhead North End CC 22-mile event on April 19.
