Simon Norman (Bedfordshire Road CC) and Katja Rietdorf (Born to Bike) were the winners as Cambridge CC staged a 10-mile time trial on the F2d/10 course near Cambourne on Saturday.
45-year-old Norman clocked 20.02 to take the win by thirty seconds from John Mulvey (Cambridge university CC), while the promoting club’s David McGaw took third spot, another two seconds off the pace.
And in the women’s event, Katja Rietdorf (Born to Bike-Bridgetown Cycles) was victorious, her time of 23.19 being 28 seconds faster than Jennifer Smart (VC Norwich), while Sarah Short (Bonito Squadra Corse) completed that podium in third, another eight seconds adrift.
The tandem prize went to Nikki Hunt (VTTA London and Home Counties) and Brian Foran (Lampard RC) who clocked 23.46 to take the win by 33 seconds from Maldon and District CC duo Chris and Joanne York.
