From the start - on the southern edge of the village of Wool on the B3071 - up to the Burngate turn (above West Lulworth) is around 3 miles long and largely uphill all the way. It includes Newtown Hill, a little ring grovel for about 400 hundred yards. The hill peaks at Burngate Wood followed by a swift 1/2 mile descent to the Burngate turn onto the B3070. This is a sharp left turn and CANNOT be taken at speed. This is followed a fast sweeping descent past Lulworth Castle into East Lulworth where two S bends have to be taken with caution. The B3070 then heads north east along flattish roads past the military firing ranges, before turning west onto Holme Lane/Bindon Lane for 3 flat miles to Wool. This is not a B road, but is wide enough for passing cars. It is a winding road, ensure you ride with your 'head up' at all times, as several corners offer little advance visibility. The finish line will be on the edge of Wool village.
Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers are running our 'Sporting' 42KM time trial on 25th April over two and a half-ish laps of the same course for those interested. Entries via this website
