Seb Tremlett (Guernsey Velo Club) and Caitlin Peters (trainSharp Development Team) recorded their second wins of the weekend taking the men’s and women’s events at the Bynea CC 25.

Both riders also won the Bynea CC 10 the previous day and showed their form over the 25-mile distance to take victories once again.

The event also incorporated a CTT centenary event for road bikes with Robbie Disney (Ludlow CC) and Bethan Ouseley (Pembrokeshire Velo) taking the men’s and women’s honours.

Peters, from Fareham in Hampshire, also set a new women’s course record along the R25/4 on her way to winning the time trial event in a time of one hour, four minutes and four seconds.

Using part of the Bynea 10 course the previous day, riders started on the A4069 heading to Llandovery for the opening three miles.

Competitors then joined the A40 down to Llandeilo before making the return journey to complete the course.

Despite torrential rain, thunderstorms and strong winds overnight, the weather had settled by early morning to allow the event to go ahead in reasonably mild conditions.

Peters recorded her second win of the season in as many days finishing ahead of veteran Clare Greenwood (Bush Healthcare CRT) in second (1-07-33) while Isabella McNally (Westbury Wheelers) finished third (1-10-31).

In the men’s event Tremlett took his third victory of the season recording a winning time of 52-05.

Andrew Horsfall-Turner (Drag2Zero) finished second in 53-21 while Ross Hamilton (Bynea Cycling Club) 54.51 finished third.

Victory in the veterans’ competition on standard was taken by Chris Jones (Bynea CC) with his time of 56-30 equating to a standard time of +11:01.

Second place on standard went to Marc Barrow (Swansea Vale Tri) in +8:21 and Jeff Partridge (Bynea CC) was third (+7:53).

Riding his first ever open 25-mile time trial Huw Cressey-Rodgers (Towy Riders CC) beat the boys’ juvenile course record with an impressive time of 1-08-52.

Meanwhile, the CTT Centenary road bike event saw Disney take a clear men’s victory clocking 1-02-20 which was nine minutes clear of his nearest rival.

Mike Davies (Cardiff Jif) was second in 1-11-24 and best veteran on standard with +0.07 while Phil Barnes (SheHair Racing Team) finished third overall in 1-15-18.

Bethan Ouseley (Pembrokeshire Velo) was the quickest woman in the CTT Centenary road bike event clocking 1-10-21 ahead of Sharon Clifford (SheHair Racing Team) in second (1-32-21).
