Oscar Hutchings (Team Tor 2000) was the fastest overall in the Bristol South CC 10-mile time trial, while Poppy Thompson (Pro-Noctis Redchilli Bikes) was the quickest woman in their event in Gloucestershire.
30-year-old Hutchings completed the U7b course in 20:14 to come out victorious, while second place was claimed by Philip Tucker (Bynea CC) who managed a time just seven seconds slower, in 20:21.
Third place went to veteran Nick English (AeroCoach) as he clocked 20:36 to clinch a podium spot.
This was the first open event of the season for Tucker who closed out last season competing in the RTTC National 10-mile Championship. He has started this season with a win and will be hopeful of reaching the Nationals again in 2022.
In the women’s event it was Poppy Thompson who finished quickest, taking 22:25 to complete the out-and-back course.
Second place belonged to veteran Anne Loh (NAUT Cycling) as she clocked in at 23:54. The final podium spot was taken by Maria Powell of Bristol South CC), she was just over 30 seconds off the pace finishing with a time of 24:31.
Thompson has a quiet record on CTT, having only appeared twice in open events, this being the second.
Her first was this same event last year where she also finished on the podium but in third, this time she rode the course over a minute quicker and set a personal best over 10-miles which saw her take first place.
