Ian Hope (Team Solo Vinci) was the fastest man in the Hart Performance Coaching Spring Classic 10-mile time trial event in Essex, while Lara Thomas (Stowmarket & District CC) was quickest in the women’s event.
Hope led the field in the men’s event, going off as the scratch man and eventually coming out on top with a time of 20:05 which was nearly 30 seconds quicker than anybody else on the day.
Second place was Nicholas Trbovic (Cheshire Maverick CC) with a time of 20:34, while Jonny Allen (6AM Cycling) clocked a time of 21:13 to secure a third place finish.
This was Hope’s first open time trial of 2022, his last being the National 10-mile Championship at the end of last year where he finished inside the top 20.
In the women’s event it was Thomas that rode the fastest time, 24:26 being the winning time. Second spot went to Jennie Page (Southend Wheelers) who finished in 26:47, while taking the last podium spot was Paulina Mozal (Chelmer CC) who clocked in at 26:57.
This was Thomas’s first event of the season so far, and she is next due to be riding an open time trial at the Eastern Counties CA 10 next weekend.
