Ian Hope

Ian Hope (Team Solo Vinci) was the fastest man in the Hart Performance Coaching Spring Classic 10-mile time trial event in Essex, while Lara Thomas (Stowmarket & District CC) was quickest in the women’s event.

Hope led the field in the men’s event, going off as the scratch man and eventually coming out on top with a time of 20:05 which was nearly 30 seconds quicker than anybody else on the day.

Second place was Nicholas Trbovic (Cheshire Maverick CC) with a time of 20:34, while Jonny Allen (6AM Cycling) clocked a time of 21:13 to secure a third place finish.

This was Hope’s first open time trial of 2022, his last being the National 10-mile Championship at the end of last year where he finished inside the top 20.

In the women’s event it was Thomas that rode the fastest time, 24:26 being the winning time. Second spot went to Jennie Page (Southend Wheelers) who finished in 26:47, while taking the last podium spot was Paulina Mozal (Chelmer CC) who clocked in at 26:57.

Lara Thomas

This was Thomas’s first event of the season so far, and she is next due to be riding an open time trial at the Eastern Counties CA 10 next weekend.
