Hayley Simmonds (CAMS Basso) set a new national record for 10 miles by a female on a road bike, while Sam Wadsley (Primera Teamjobs) was quickest overall in the a3crg midweek 10-mile time trial.
Simmonds’ time of 20-30 gave her the win on the night by 37 seconds from Tamsin Miller (Avid Sport), while Fay Faber (CycleCoach.com) took third in 21-19.
Faber is the course record holder after a strong performance two weeks earlier on a time trial bike, and although Simmonds failed to dislodge the overall course record she did superbly to set a new national road bike record.
80 riders attended for the finale of the three Wednesday evening events from a3crg, and it was Sam Wadsley who was fastest in 1-911.
That gave him victory by five seconds from Joshua Clark (RNRMCA) with Ben Williams (GS Mossa) third, in 19-25.
Fastest time of the night through went to the Newbury Velo pairing of Ian Greenstreet and Rachael Elliott, who powered their tandem round in an impressive 19-08.
a3crg were team winners on the night with James Fawcett, Andrew Thomas and Max Doyle combining for 1-02-39, which was almost two minutes better than runners-up VC Godalming and Haslemere.
Best veteran on standard was Newbury RC’s Claire Emons with +7.36, holding off Sarah Matthews (a3crg) by 15 seconds.
