Marcel Schubert (Darlington Cycling Club) charged to victory by over a minute in the East Bradford CC 15, while Helen Goldthorpe (Otley CC) was equally as impressive in the women’s event.
Schubert, from Durham, had a successful weekend in Yorkshire after placing second time trial bike in the previous day’s Richmond CC 23.5.
The 39-year-old was in fine form despite his efforts the previous day, clocking a winning time of 31 minutes and seven seconds.
A cooler start with a slight crosswind met riders for the V221 along the A168 near Yorkshire.
The win was Schubert’s second of the season after also winning the Velo Club Cumbria 10 earlier this month and one better than his second placed finish in last weekend’s Hartlepool CC 10.
Quickest veteran on scratch was Mark Wolstenholme (Swift Racing) who recorded a season-best result of second stopping the clock in 32-31.
Meanwhile, taking his first podium position finish of the season John Brearley (Squadra RT) who finished third in 32-47.
Quickest time of the day was recorded by tandem pairing Adam Duggleby and Steve Bate (Chapeau!Vive Le Velo) who flew around the course in a time of 28-03.
The pair also won the Rossington Wheelers 25 and Stockton Whs 23 as they continue their preparations ahead of the Paralympic Games.
In the women’s event veteran Goldthorpe was a convincing winner with her time of 38-48 over a minute-and-a-half faster than her nearest rival.
Goldthorpe placed third in the Selby CC 10 on her last outing but went two places better on this occasion.
Fellow veteran Karen Taylor (Team Sportslab) led the charge behind taking second in 40-22 while Rebecca Bland (York Cycleworks) finished third (41.47).
