After placing second twice last weekend, Frederik Scheske (Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling) tasted victory at the City Cycle Couriers 10, while Catherine Hilton (Sid Valley CC) was fastest of the females.
Scheske, the 25-year-old German who lives in London, clocked 19-26 on the S4/10 course, which uses the A38 around Buckfastleigh.
That was good enough to give him the win by 55 seconds from Roberto Shaw (Plymouth Corinthian CC), while another ten seconds off the pace in third was Robert Willcocks (Royal Air Force CA).
Sid Valley CC rider Hilton, 48 and from Somerset, set a winning time of 24-46 to take the women’s prize by 1-40 from fellow veteran Maria Weymouth (Mid-Devon CC), while Lauren Parker (Royal Navy and Royal Marines CA) was third, another 13 seconds back.
Scheske placed second in both the Mid-Devon CC sporting 23 and Northover VT 10 over the Easter weekend, but went one better to win the City Cycle Couriers event today.
Hilton’s win comes after she placed second to Natalie Grinczer in Easter Monday’s Northover VT 10. She is next due to be riding in the Cycle Sport South Hams 10 on the Avonwick course in early May
