Veteran Christopher McNamara (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT) took victory by over a minute in the Horsham Cycling 10, while host club rider Katie Simmonds was a clear winner in the women’s event.
McNamara, aged 46, continued his winning run this season with a fourth straight victory clocking a time of 19 minutes and 19 seconds over 10 miles.
McNamara also won the Brighton Mitre CC 10 on the same course last month but went 18 seconds faster on this occasion.
The G10/97 saw riders start outside Steyning before traveling out and back along the A283 down to Shoreham-by-Sea before making the return journey.
A damp morning greeted competitors after some overnight rain on the course, which is not as flat as some others.
McNamara added the win to his in the East Sussex CA 50, Brighton Mitre 10, Bec CC 10 and Crawley Wheelers sporing 41.6 already this season.
A close battle behind saw three riders separated by just 25 seconds in the battle for second.
Stuart Bettis (HuntBikeWheels.com) took a season-best second place finish in 20-29 while Matt Sumpton (Dulwich Paragon CC) finished third in 20-46.
David Pollard (Maison du Velo/In-Gear Cycles) was quickest veteran on scratch with his time of 29-48 equating to +7m 54.
McNamara was second veteran on standard (+6.48) just ahead of host club rider Anthony Brown in +6m 47.
The fastest team was TMC with Nik Allen (21-06), Kevin Plummer (21-49) and Tom Houghton 22-39 all contributing.
The National Youth Championship qualifying event for the London South DC also formed part of the event.
Mattie Dodd (Team Backstedt Bike Performance) took an emphatic win in 20-02, which would have been good enough for second overall on the day.
Lucas Houghton (Brighton Excelsior CC) finished second in 25-13 while Noah Horton (Palmer Park Velo) finished third (29-06).
In the women’s event Horsham Cycling rider Simmonds took her first victory of the season in a time of 24-41.
Grace Davies (Project 51) finished second in 27-35 while Angela Brown (JAM Cycling Race Team coached by BPC) placed third (29-40).
