Tom Hutchinson (Team Bottrill) took his first win of the season in the North Tyneside Riders 10, while Joanne Rea (Blaydon CC) added another victory to her women’s tally.
Earlier in the month Hutchinson was pushed into second in the Barnesbury CC 21, but he was not to be beaten on this occasion clocking a winning time of 19 minutes and 25 seconds despite being delayed by traffic on the course.
The M102B in south east Northumberland saw riders competing on a dual carriageway with three roundabouts to negotiate over the two-lap course.
Early morning frost quickly gave way, and riders were treated to a dry and sunny morning but the temperature was still low.
Lewis Wake (Team Kirkley Cycles) led the charge for second and finished just 23 seconds behind clocking 19-48.
Quickest veteran Carl Donaldson (GS Metro) was in third place overall in a time of 20-06 while his team-mate Philip Kennell was fastest veteran aged over-50 in 10th overall (20-41).
In the road bike competition John Bowman (Muckle Cycle Club) took the first prize clocking a time of 21-09 with Nick Munroe (Royal Air Force Cycling Association) finishing second (21-53).
Taking the male team prize was the GS Metro trio of Carl Donaldson, Andy Hall and Tommy Murray with a combined time of 1-00-52.
Harris Hall (Velo Culture) was the fastest of the junior rider in 22-52, with his regular outings in club time trials paying dividends.
“I know the course well and what is possible in the right conditions,” said Hutchinson.
“Unfortunately, today I got stuck behind some traffic multiple times, which is of course part of racing, but as a result I found it difficult to settle into my rhythm.
“Luckily, I managed to hold it together to finish ahead of a strong field of riders.
“Thanks to the race organisers and officials at today’s event. It was good to get another race under the belt and it is always a nice bonus to take the win.”
Rea recorded her third win in as many rides in the women’s event clocking a winning time of 22-39.
The 33-year-old, from Prudhoe in Northumberland, has already clinched victories in the Barnesbury CC 21 and Blaydon CC (2-up) before adding her latest win.
Jen McMahon (Sub Rosa) led the charge for second in (23-55) while veteran Vicky Gibbs (Reifen Racing) was third clocking 24-35
Rea led Blaydon CC to the female team prize alongside team-mates Angela McGurk and Carrie Brookes.
