James Foggensteiner

James Foggensteiner (Team PB Performance) rode his way to victory in the Coventry CC 10-mile time trial, while Jennifer George (The Independent Pedaler - Nopinz) took the win in the women’s event.

22-year-old Foggensteiner clocked a new personal best time of 19:55, while in second was Jeremy MacLean (Solihull CC) who finished the course in 19:58. Following him was Chris Spencer (Royal Leamington Spa CC) who clocked in at 20:32 for third

This marked the first win of the season for Foggensteiner who previously only had one podium finish to his CTT profile, third in the Manchester and Dist CA 10 in July. His previous best time for the 10-mile distance was 20:35, he took 40 seconds off of that during this event.

In the women’s event It was Jennifer George who outclassed the field and pushed the pace to finish first in 21-21, over a minute ahead of the second placed rider.

Melanie Sneddon (TORQ Performance) finished second, she rode a time of 22:40. The final podium spot went to Sian Marsh (Banbury Star Cyclists’ Club) who finished with a time of 23:05.

In the team competition victory went to Beacon Roads CC with 1-05-38 from their three riders Ian Taylor, George Thorne and Simon Dighton, while narrowly behind was the trio from Banbury Star CC.

And the women’s team prize went to Banbury Star CC with Naomi de Pennington, Sian Marsh and Fay Barrington.

George came into the event from a disappointing ride in the National 25-Mile Championship last weekend where a puncture meant she finished last but still helped her team-mates win the team prize.

She plans to ride the a3crg 15 next Sunday, as she prepares for the National 50-Mile Championship in Cheshire on August 29. Meanwhile, Foggensteiner will be riding the Leamington C&AC 10 next Sunday.
