Nova Raiders stormed to victory in the Shropshire CCA 4-up TT over 50 kilometres, while Total Tri Combined won the women’s event.

The Nova Raiders team of Dean Callister, Andy Rose, Mark Pritchard, Andrew Lacon combined to set a winning time of one hour, seven minutes and 21 seconds over the Shropshire course.

The K52/50KM saw riders start in Edgmond, Shropshire before completing an out and back course split into three sections.

The opening undulating section saw teams head out to Crudgington crossroads along the B5062 before turning left down to Shawbirch on the A442.

Encircling the roundabout riders headed back up the A442 through the Crudgington crossroads and continuing to Hodnet.

Riders once again retraced their steps encircling the island at Hodnet before retuning back to Crudgington crossroads and turning back on to the B5062 for the fast descent back to Edgmond.

Nova Raiders clinched victory and the John Farr Trophy finishing 48 seconds ahead of Warrington RC (1-09-09) with their team consisting of Warren Giddins, David Wright, Malcolm Horner and Steven Hankey.

In third place was Wrekinsport CC clocking 1-09-44 with a team of Tomos Hales, Andrew Hellowell, Phil Roberts and Ian Bond.

The women’s event was won by team Total Tri Combined consisting of Rebecca Holland, Emma-Jane Bradfield, Laura Gray and Leonie Keeling who covered the course in 1-16-11.

Wrekinsport ‘A’ Women finished second in 1-30-20 with a time of Clare Cotterill, Helen Blake, Victoria Doranb and Bethan Till.

Meanwhile, Wrekinsport ‘B’ Women finished third with Clare O’Donnell, Angela Boycott, Hannah Jukes-Jones and Jo Carswell all combining to cover the course in 1-30-20.

All the proceeds of the event went to the Midlands Air Ambulance.
