Jennifer Millmore and Hadyn James spearheaded the women and men’s categories in the High Wycombe CC 10-mile time trial on Good Friday morning.
James (Velolife) featured on the podium once again in High Wycombe’s 10-mile event on the H10/22 course, this time, he upgraded to winner after finishing third in 2018.
The 35-year-old improved on his time as well as position, breaking the 19-minute mark and stopping the clocks on 18-49 in his first event of the year.
Felix Wilkinson (Velo Club Montpellier) was closest to James’ mark but couldn’t find the extra gear, eventually falling short with a gap of 20 seconds but still marginally good enough for second spot.
Chris Holmes (Twickenham CC) was the man to make way for Wilkinson being pipped by a second and dropping to third in 19-10.
In the women’s category, Jennifer Millmore (Islington Cycling Club) recorded a time of 21-29 to take an eight second victory over Anneleen Bosma (Team LDN) who clocked 21-37.
Kate Allan (Drag2Zero) wasn’t far behind herself in third, only another eight seconds adrift of Bosma.
Prize for fastest junior was handed to home club rider Sam Hucks who clocked 20-18 seeing him feature in the top ten.
The H10/22 course takes riders from near Marlow down the A404 to the junction with the A4 Bath Road, before turning where it turns to motorway and retracing up the A-road.
