Felix Wilkinson returned to the top as Joanne Jago claimed her third consecutive win in Gloucester City CC’s 25-mile event on Saturday.
The pair have featured together in a few events down the West of England this season, but this is the second time that both have won the same event on the same day, the last being the Severn RC 12.3-mile time trial back in February.
Wilkinson (Velo Club Montpellier) might’ve hoped for a double bank holiday win but those hopes were dashed on Good Friday as he finished second in the High Wycombe CC 10.
A healthy gap of 34 seconds to the runner-up will have been a further bonus to the 22-year-old who claimed the bounce back victory and a very good weekend with a time of 54-49.
Robert Grover (Bradford-on-Avon CC) maintained a consistent run of form by finishing second in 55-23. He has four podiums in as many started events this year – two second places and two thirds.
Tony Chapman (Frome & District Wheelers) completed the podium with his second consecutive top three, clocking 57-37.
Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles) found herself atop of the Gloucester City CC 25 standings for yet another time thanks to a time of 1-06-00.
Jago’s time meant the 38-year-old from Bristol has now won this event three consecutive times as well as adding to her one event victory already this season.
Kate Derrick (Chippenham & District Wheelers) was second in 1-08-55 while Clementina Davies (Yeovil CC) was third in 1-10-37.
