Martin Canes was top man as Amy Pritchard blew away her rivals in the Shaftesbury CC 25-mile time trial in Suffolk on Saturday.
Pritchard (Team Bottrill) was a class above her competition as she went on to take victory by a distance. A winner already this year, Pritchard now has two open event victories in just three starts, her other coming in the North Road CC hardriders 21.2-mile back in February.
Her time of 54-37 was over three minutes superior to that of second-placed Helen Reynolds (Hemel Hempstead CC) in 58-04.
In the men’s category, Martin Canes (Chelmer CC) claimed his maiden victory of the year.
The 33-year-old jumped 29 spots from his last outing where he finished 30th. He crossed the line this time round with a time of 52-36.
In second place, Neil Crowther (Blazing Saddles) was 32 seconds adrift of Canes with a time of 53-08 but recorded his best placing in over a year.
Sam Hughes (Liverpool Century RC) equalled his best finish of the season so far with a third place, 19 seconds back from Crowther, clocking 53-27.
The E2/25 sees riders join the Newmarket bypass A14 southbound from Studlands Park where they travel south onto the A11 until they reach Four Wentways junction.
A U-turn and riders retrace their path to finish on the opposite side of the junction they started from.
