Adam Duggleby (Vive Le Velo) blazed his way around the course in East Yorkshire reaching speeds of over 30mph.
The 33-year-old from Leeds, had to settled for second in last week’s Birdwell Wheelers 10-mile event but bounced back and proved his excellence in the 15-mile time trial on Sunday. Organisers believe the Vive Le Velo rider’s time of 29-31 shaved over half a minute off the previous record.
Duggleby, a double Paralympic Gold medallist as a pilot, made the most of good conditions to take a resounding victory on the undulating V724 course.
His blistering time of 29-31 was over a minute ahead of second place man Andy Jackson (Aerocoach) who clocked 30-34.
Jackson has had a mixed 2018 with no podium finish in four races until Sunday’s race. His first top three of the year could see the 42-year-old from Huddersfield recoup his form from the end of 2017 as he picked up two wins.
The podium places were completed by Hayden Allen (T.H.R.E Datawolves R.T). Allen made it two podiums in two days after finishing second in the Saturday’s Ravenscroft CC 10 on the opposite side of Yorkshire.
The race for third was close but Allen eventually won the battle by a marginal three seconds ahead of Darren Yarnwood (Vive Le Velo).
Team Sportslab had a good day in the women’s category taking all three podium spots. Sarah Lewthwaite was the top rider though for the Sportslab team taking the prize in 37-07 which was enough to hold off Karen Taylor who finished 25 seconds down the road with a time of 37-32. Sarah Hulme completed the 1-2-3 finish in 40-37.
