Anna Muir and Matthew Senter took victories in the Anglia Velo 10-mile time trial on Saturday afternoon.
Senter (Team Velovelocity), the 38-year-old Kings Lynn resident, secured his 11th win of the 2018 campaign. Setting off last, he had the task of beating a mark set down by team-mate Stuart Fairweather (Team Velovelocity) around 20 minutes before he was due to start.
Senter’s last win came earlier this month as he won the Sleaford Wheelers CC 25-mile event and followed it up with seventh and third placings in the VTTA 10 and CC Breckland District 15 respectively.
His time of 19-05 beat second-placed Stuart Fairweather’s earlier mark of 19-39. 41-year-old Fairweather added another podium to his three wins this season in a tightly contested 10-mile event as he was one of four riders inside 20 minutes.
Matt O’Brien (Plomesgate CC) was just four seconds adrift of Fairweather as he completed the podium with Senter and Fairweather’s teammate Ben Stancombe (Team Velovelocity) only 15 seconds out from O’Brien in 19-58.
Anna Muir (Chelmer CC) was fastest woman of the day as her 22-37 lead her to a hat-trick of victories for the season, her two previous coming in the Easterley RC 25 and Bedfordshire Road CC 10.
Muir lead from Becky Schofield (Tri-Anglia Triathlon Club) who clocked 23-20 and Julia Freeman (Easterley Road CC) in 23-22.
Starting in the market town of Attleborough, the B10/3b course follows the A11 down towards Snetterton before retracing north and passing back through Attleborough. The course is a relatively flat piece of road for riders to reach speeds northwards of 30mph.
