Matthew Senter broke the course record at the East District CA 10 on Saturday and Cindy Berry put in a fantastic performance to win the woman’s category and only missed out on the women’s course record by a single second.
Senter, who has steadily been racking up the wins this season, picked up his latest in stunning fashion by beating his closest rival by just over a minute.
There was further reason to celebrate too – Senter led home a Team Velovelocity one-two-three with Ben Stancombe second and David Procter third.
Senter stopped the clock at 19.45 to take the win – his seventh of the year and his ninth podium finish.
Other wins have included the Stowmarket & District CC 10, the VC Norwich 25 and the VC Barrachi 10.
Stancombe was 1.01 behind his team mate in second place in 20.46. In third was another Velovelocity rider, veteran Procter in 21.20. That was enough to secure him the veteran prize.
Despite missing out on the course record, it was still a very strong ride from Cindy Berry and the Pedal Power Cycles Ipswich rider was 20th out of 63 overall in 23.17.
Veteran Susan Triplow of Essex Roads CC was second fastest woman in a time of 23.54 and third was Wisbech Wheelers’ Becky Murley in 23.55.
