Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC) returned to the top podium spot with a comfortable victory in the North Hampshire RC 25 while Jenny Simmonds (Look Mum No Hands) took the women’s victory.
Maybank, 46, from Claygate in Surrey, kept his power steady despite the cross-wind conditions to win in a time of 49 minutes and 10 seconds.
The H25/8 course sees riders start from the outskirts of Farnham before heading towards Alton and turning for home before completing the loop once more.
Maybank, who also won the Hounslow and District Wheelers 25 last month was seven seconds slower on this occasion but a comfortable victor.
Fellow veteran Kevin Tye (VeloRefined.com Aerosmiths) finished 32 seconds behind in 49.42 while first senior Chris Loake (Pure Motion Cycling Club) took third in 49.58.
“It was alright as it was quite windy but that didn’t seem to bring the speed down too much,” said Maybank.
“The last two races I have done have been good conditions and I was only 30 seconds slower. I have been around the win in recent weeks but it’s nice to get it.
“It’s a bit of a lumpy course and my power was pretty steady all the way through. The cross wind made it hard going South but then on the return I gathered a lot of speed.”
In the women’s event 47-year-old Simmonds clocked a winning time of one hour and 24 seconds.
After finishing second woman in the Ross-on-Wye 25 last month her time was good enough for victory by over a minute on this occasion.
Jules Birch (Mickey Cranks Cycling Club) took second in 1:01.32 while Michelle Walter (Bournemouth Arrow CC) finished third (1:03.54).
