Veteran riders Simon Norman (Bedfordshire RT) and Helen Reynolds (Hemel Hempstead CC) took clear victories in the men’s and women’s races respectively at the North Road CC 25.
Scratch rider Norman beat his rival’s times to finish in top spot with a winning time of 52 minutes and 45 seconds, averaging over 28 miles per hour.
The looped course around the Bedfordshire countryside saw riders complete two laps between Wrestlingworth, Guilden Morden and Wendy.
Norman, who finished third in the Cambridge CC 10 last month, went two positions better on this occasion over the longer distance.
Ross Clarke (TMG Horizon Cycle Team) finished a place behind Norman in the Cambridge 10 and was beaten again, this time into second with a time of 53.22.
A tight battle behind for third saw Stephen Taylor (Islington CC) beat Geir Robinson (Regents Park Roulers) by fractions of a second with both riders finishing on 53.30.
In the women’s event Reynolds, who also won the Bossard Wheelers 10, clinched another victory with a winning time of 1:01.28.
Chasing her home was fellow veteran and Team Milton Keynes team-mates Helen Boatman in second clocking 1:04.41 and Linda Dewhurst in third (1:05.37).
