Luke Clarke (TMG Horizon Cycling Team) and veteran Zoe Adams (Hemel Hempstead CC) went one better than their second place finishes last month to clinch victories in the Norlond TT Combine 10.
With many of their rivals split between competing at the Northampton & District CA 10 and Lee Valley CC 10 it was Clarke and Adams’ turn to claim category wins.
Clarke finishing second on the same course last month and despite going six seconds slower on this occasion his time of 20 minutes and 22 seconds was enough for victory.
The F15/10 course sees riders travel down a starting hill from near Brogborough on the flat C94 road towards Wootton before turning for home and finishing before the uphill rise back to the start.
A slight headwind on the return journey hindered rider’s times and Clarke was chased home by Gareth Davies (Team Bottrill/Vanguard) who settled for second in 20.59.
Fastest veteran Ady Dench (Triathlon Coaching UK) clinched third overall in 21.37 with clocking an average speed of 27.75 miles per hour.
Adams, who also finished second in the Bossard Wheelers 10 on the same course last month also went one better on this occasion despite being two seconds slower clocking 24.34.
She headed a strong women’s field which Emma Koppe (CC Ashwell) led home for second in 25.21 while Janet Bassett (Team Bottrill/Vanguard) took third in 25.45.
