Luke Cornish (Cwmcarn Paragon RC) and Crystal Spearman (Nopinz) finished their 50 seasons in style with victories in the Welsh Championships.
Cornish who also clinched victory in the VTTA 30 last weekend, clocked a winning time of one hour, 45 minutes and 14 seconds- over a minute faster than his nearest rival.
The R50/1B course sees riders start near Abergavenny before travelling on the A40 towards Monmouth and turning for home after passing Reglan before completing the out-and-back loop again.
Cornish who finished sixth in the Welsh 100 after suffering in the closing stages and 14th in the Welsh 25 found the middle distance to his advantage clocking an average speed of over 28.5 miles per hour.
Christopher Gibbard (Bynea CC) had to settle for second on this occasion but set a club record of 1:46.18 in good conditions while Victor Chetta (Mid Shropshire Whls) led a host of veterans home to finish third in 1:47.06.
However, it wasn’t enough for him to win the fastest veteran on standard prize which went to fourth place Keith Ainsworth (Sheffrec CC) with a standard of +12.13.
Spearman, who finished sixth in the National 12-hour Championships last month clinch the women’s victory with a winning time of 1:59.05.
Andrea Parish (VeloSistas TT Team) finished second in 2:04.23 while Sue Rust (Kettering CC) took a closely fought third clocking 2:07.52- just 15 seconds faster than Claire Bird (Pontypool Road CC).
Fastest team was Bristol South consisting of Mark Bradley, Daniel Kempe and Andy Kelly.
