Adam Wild (Tyneside Vagabonds CC) and Gemma Frost (Muckle CC) took clear victories in the Cramlington CC 21 over the exposed course near the Northumberland National Park.

Wild, 20, from Morpeth, won the Tyneside Vagabonds 100 last weekend but showed on Saturday that he is just as fast over the shorter distance clocking a winning time of 47.39.

The M21 course saw riders head north from the junction with the A696 and then complete a loop around Scotts Gap before heading back on the same unclassified road.

Veteran rider Harry Walker (Team Swift) had to settle for second, for the third time this month, finishing in 48.15 on this occasion.

Colin Atkinson (Muckle Cycle Club) headed the rest of the pack for third clocking 50.15.

Fastest woman was 34-year-old Frost whose time of 53.21 was good enough for 10th place overall.

She beat veteran rider Louise Hamilton (Mountain Goat Coaching) into second with a 1:02.56 while Jennifer Holland (Tyne Tri) finished third in 1:05.57.
