The Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers pairing of Louisa and Andy Cooper retained their title with victory at Bournemouth and District WCA’s two-up 10-mile event.
The duo from Wimborne in Dorset topped the podium by 19 seconds from their nearest rivals, with 28 teams taking to the P311 course on Saturday afternoon
Last to set off, they improved upon their winning time last year by 22 seconds, the Coopers stopped the clock this time at 22.32.
Louisa, who turned 35 last week, has had some good individual results in the build up to this victory including second place at the Newbury RC 15 and fourth at the Poole Wheelers 10 back in July.
Kirsty McSeveny and Paul Morris finished second, the Fareham Wheelers pair were the only other pair to go under the 23-minute mark, nine seconds inside at 22.51.
It was a tight battle for third place, with Lizzy Campbell & Tom Stocker (Iris RT/Hargrove) edging out Faye Faber and Liam Somerville (Bike Jockey CC) to complete the podium.
