Andrew Wilkinson of Port Sunlight Wheelers took first place in the North Shropshire Wheelers event on Sunday, posting a time of 51.32.
Held in Prees, Shropshire, the event saw a competitive field battle it out over 25 miles and it was the veteran Wilkinson who proved to be the best on the day, beating John Lucock (Police Sport UK CRT) by a minute and 17 seconds.
Lucock, who completed in 52.49, took second place by 28 seconds wit third-placed Victor Chetta of Mid Shropshire Wheelers doing a 53.17.
The veteran on standard prize went to Terry Icke (Newport Shropshire) and Jill Wilkinson (Chester RC) won the women’s prize in 1:01:14.
Mid Shropshire Wheelers took the team honours with Victor Chetta, Simon Harrison and James Bell combining for a time of 2:51.47.
