Hot on the heels of his win in the Manchester and District CA 50 win towards the end of June, Charles Taylor took another victory over 50 miles with a fantastic ride in the Cheshire Road Club open 50 on Saturday.
Held in Cranage, Cheshire, the event saw the Team Bottrill rider complete in 1:44.30, a minute and 16 seconds quicker than Velotik Racing Team’s David Crawley who stopped the clock at 1:45.46. This was enough to give Crawley the veteran prize as well as second step on the podium.
Those two were well ahead of the competition with Congleton CC’s Ben Norbury coming in third with a time of 1:49.58.
Veteran Claire Harrison of Vision Racing topped the standings in the women’s category by more than ten minutes.
Harrison completed in 2:06.15 and her closest rival was another veteran, Sue Cheetham of North Lancs RC in 2:17.47.
The rest of the women’s field was quite close but yet another veteran, Jeanette Barber of Seamons CC, clinched third with 2:19.18.
