Newbury Road Club’s Tim Cartwright took a convincing victory in the Oxonian CC 25-mile time trial staged on the H25/17 near Wootton in Bedfordshire on Sunday.
His time of 52.02 gave him the win by over a minute from veteran Malcolm Rose (Oxonian CC), while Antony Gough (Velo One CT) completed the podium in third, 1-48 off the pace set by Cartwright.
In-form Cartwright tasted victory in the Newbury Road Club 10 a couple of weeks ago, when he clocked 20.11 – the same time as he managed in the West London CA 10 when he placed second.
Behind the top three, Mark Cox (Fairly United CT) took fourth with 53.55, while Richard Gildea (Didcot Phoenix CC) was fifth with 54.17, just three seconds ahead of sixth-placed Elliot Maynard (Team Bottrill).
Fastest of the women was Deborah Davidson (Mickey Cranks CC) with 1:04.10, which gave her the win by 2-20 from Lindsay Rawling (Allen Valley Velo), while third fastest female was Victoria Lawson (Didcot Phoenix CC) who was just 17 seconds off Rawling’s pace.
