Alastair Wareham took his latest victory over ten miles in the Huddersfield Star Wheelers event in Upper Cumberworth on Sunday.
The SSLL RT rider averaged at 27 miles-per-hour to complete the course in 21.58, beating James Rix of Crawley Wheelers into second.
Rix was 16 seconds down on Wareham’s time with 22.14. Richard Dean of Team Swift was pushing hard all the way and narrowly missed out on second place by just a second, completing in 22.15.
The top three were well ahead of the competition with fourth-placed Blair Buss of SSLL 51 seconds behind.
Rachael Mellor was fastest woman on the day, the Holmfirth CC rider stopping the clock at 25.49, putting her 16th overall.
The next fastest woman was Clare Smith of Pedalsport CC in 29.50 and third was home club rider Gilly Dukes in 31.29.
