Event HQ – The Sovereign Public house will be available for refreshments and facilities. 172-174 Penistone Road, Shepley, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, HD8 8BE. The signing-on sheets, race numbers and result board will be at the Sovereign.

Parking – Moose Storage, Holmfirth Road (A635), Shepley, HD8 8BB, have kindly agreed for us to use their car park. Please park to the right of the building as shown below. As standard, turbo trainers are not to be used within 150 yds of any occupied property, please locate turbo trainers to the far left corner of the car park, thank you.

PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN FRONT OR TO THE LEFT OF MOOSE STORAGE OR ON THE MAIN ROAD.

Warming up on the road  

Please do not warm up on the course after the first rider has started. The A635 Holmfirth Road in the direction of New Mill or the A635 Barnsley Road in the direction of Upper Cumberworth are both ideal.  

Directions to Course Start from HQ  

Turn right out of the car park, turn right again at the Sovereign cross-roads. (Extreme caution to be taken, this is an extremely busy and hazardous junction). Start is approximately 250 metres up the hill.

IN THE INTERESTS OF YOUR OWN SAFETY, CYCLING TIME TRIALS, AND THE EVENT PROMOTERS, STRONGLY ADVISE YOU TO WEAR A HARD SHELL HELMET THAT MEETS AN INTERNATIONALLY ACCEPTED SAFETY STANDARD.

It is also recommended that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to your machine in a position visible to following road users & is active while machine is in use.  

In accordance with regulation 15 ALL JUNIOR competitors must wear Protective Hard Shell Helmets

Course V915: Start on the A629 approximately 250 metres South of the Sovereign crossroads,with A635 south of Shepley village. In line with drain at opposite side of road, 3 metres to the left of street lighting column. Continue south on the A629 to Hoylandswaine traffic island with the A628. Encirlce traffic island and return north on the A629 to finish opposite the start. 10 miles.

Please note that Marshals are only present to indicate your direction, not to control traffic in your favour. At each junction it is your responsibility to check for traffic and ensure that it is safe to proceed. The road surface, for part of the course, is not the smoothest in the area!! An updated risk assessment and notes of any hazards will be displayed at signing on.
