Andy Jackson (SSLL Racing Team) clocked a rapid 19.04 on a challenging afternoon to take victory in the Yorkshire Cycling Federation 10-mile time trial on the V718 course near South Cave, East Yorkshire.
Far from perfect conditions meant that the renowned course didn’t produce any of the fast times that have been seen, but Jackson still powered on to win by 16 seconds from his team-mate at SSLL Racing Team Jonathan Wears, while Gavin Hinxman (Kettering CC) was another 29 seconds back in third.
Fastest female was Holmfirth CC’s Great Britain cyclo-cross ace Amira Mellor who covered the course in 22.21, giving her the win over second-placed Kirsty Smith (Team Swift) by 11 seconds.
For Jackson, it was the latest in a long line of 2016 victories which have included the Norlond Combine 50-mile event earlier this month, the Yorkshire CF 25 and BDCA 25 in April, as well as winning the Sheffrec two-up alongside Simon Beldon back in March.
