Mark Arnold (CC Desiragear) took a narrow victory by only five seconds in the Stowmarket and District CC 20-mile time trial on Saturday.

Arnold flew around the Suffolk countryside loop, clocking a time of 42 minutes and 55 seconds to clinch the win.

Behind in 43 minutes dead was Joe Skipper who clinched second ahead of David McGaw (Cambridge CC) 43.19 in third.

Arnold continued on from last year’s form which saw him take four victories including the East Anglian VTTA 10.

First woman on the day of the host club was Bonny Howes in a time in 1:01.55.
