COMPETITORS INSTRUCTIONS
HEADQUARTERS ; Bentley Memorial Hall, Bentley, GU10 5NB, open from 7.00 am. For location & directions from the A31 see map
Strictly no bicycles or shoes with plates or cleats to be worn in hall
NOISE ; Please keep quiet when arriving at the event, do not shout or slam car doors. Residents will be asleep close to the HQ.
NUMBERS & SIGNING-ON-SHEET will be inside the HQ. These must be signed by the rider
Any late instructions will be at this point
Numbers must be returned to the HQ in exchange for a free drink. Other refreshments will be available
.
PARKING ; NO PARKING on Main Road thro’ centre of village. Or in Hole Lane, nor on forecourt of HQ.
There is limited parking at HQ. Parking is allowed on the right hand (West) grass verge on the bridge over A31.
There are also two lay-bys on the East-bound side of the A31, near ‘The Bull’.
If possible we would like you to consider parking there. Please do not park in the pub car park!
There is also a small area behind the bus stop at the crossroads near ‘The Bull ’where up to 10 cars can park.
Also, if you turn in from from the A31 towards that area, you can turn left up the little lane and there is room for a few vehicles up there, too.
whatever you do, do not block the entrance/exit to the new housing estate on the south side of the crossroads.(on the left if you are looking out across the old A31 from the hall )
You would be doing us a great favour if you would be happy to park further from the hall, and ride in to sign-on & pick up your numbers. See also the separate map of parking restrictions from LWDC.
Parking is also possible half a mile SW of HQ on Isington Lane after it passes under the A31
COURSE ; Froyle (Hampshire) H100/88, see sparate details and map. IMPORTANT NOTE ! the dual carriageway on both sides, adjacent to the Start has been reduced to a single lane by cross hatching.
Competitors to regard this part of the road as a single lane. Riding on the cross hatching will lead to disqualification and a report will go to the CTT D.C. At the Coxbridge (Farnham) RAB turn, the use of tri-ba tri-bars is forbidden, while turning, on safety grounds. Riders must use the widest part of their handlebars. An observer will be present and a any rider seen using their tri-bars here will be disqualified and reported to the LWDC who could take further disciplinary action.
MILEAGE BOARDS ; will be at 25, 50, and 75 miles. Intermediate times will be taken at 50 miles.
USE OF MOTOR VEHICLES ; to comply with Reg.22, please fill in the form available at the HQ
Cycling Time Trials and Hounslow & Dist. Whs. strongly advise that you wear a hard shell helmet that meets an accepted safety standard.
All riders under 18 must wear a helmet.
We recommend that a working rear light, either flashing or constant, is fitted to the machine in a position visible to following road users and is active whilst the machine is in use.
