Start in layby adjacent to Castle Inn(right) continue on road to enter Bassenthwaite Village, proceed up small climb out of village to continue down the back of Bassenthwaite lake to Keswick Roundabout (6 miles). Encircle roundabout and retrace back along A591, descending into Bassenthwaite village heading towards Castle Inn Junction. Finish on small incline prior to right turn prior Castle Inn (12 miles), where riders turn right to cool down off B591.
