START just inside lane leading to Wildriggs (Grid Ref. 499299) on the B5288 Penrith-Greystoke road ¾ mile south of Newton Rigg college (height above sea level 170 metres). Proceed west on B5288 to Greystoke (4.0 miles) where right , taking great care at junction. After 300 yards bear left on unclassified road and continue through Johnby to junction at Thanet Well (8.1 miles). Left at junction, past Newsham and over Newsham Bridge to next junction (9.5 miles) where left and continue to Murrah crossroads (11.3 miles) where left onto Hutton Roof-Berrier road. Through Berrier (height 350 metres) to the Sportsman Inn Junction (14.6 miles) where left and after 1 mile rejoin B5288. Continue along B5288 through Motherby and Greystoke (18.0 miles) to FINISH just beyond start point and just before lane on left leading to Newton Rigg College. (Distance approximately 22 MILES).
