Joe Cosgrove earned his third win of the season at the Junior National 10-mile Championships in Cambridgeshire on Sunday morning, while Maia Howell was the fastest girl.
Team Bottrill rider Cosgrove clocked 18-31 to stave off competition from team-mate Luca Bednarek, who finished runner-up with 18-57, while Matthew Kent of Tofauti Everyone Active earned third place with a time of 19-09.
Cosgrove’s victory is a continuation of the fine form the 18-year-old has shown so far this season, with his win in the title race adding to wins at Kent Valley RC 10 and Barrow Central Wheelers 10 earlier in the year.
In the girls category Maia Howell of Matlock CC posted 22-34 to claim the title ahead of Iris Gray (Welwyn Wheelers) who set 23-04 for second place, while Gosforth RC rider Freya Johnson finished in a time of 24-37 to secure third spot.
Nathan Levitt of Hillingdon Slipstreamers was the fastest rider on a road bike with 20-43, a time good enough for seventh overall.
Welwyn Wheelers, consisting of Asher Gray, Iris Gray and Elijah Storti, took home the junior team prize with a combined time of 1.06.32.
