Ellie Garrett (Richmond CC) and Louise Burnie (Blaydon CC) posted exactly the same time to share victory in the Vector Racing 25, while Lewis Wake (Team Kirkley Cycles) was quickest in the open category.
Quickest in the road bike categories was Simon Crisp (Gosforth RC) and Sarah Wann (EMC Cycling).
The M2510 saw competitors start outside Bedlington before travelling two laps of an out and back course along the A189 to the turn outside Ashington.
A dry but chilly morning greeted riders with the wind rising from the early morning course inspection.
In the open event Wake overcame mechanical worries about his bike to post a winning time of 50 minutes and 14 second – 22 seconds clear of his nearest challenger.
The 28-year-old started as scratch man having won the Barnesbury CC 21 and Border City Wheelers 13.5-mile events already this season.
Quickest veteran on scratch Kris Whitelaw (Vector Racing) placed second overall just 22 seconds back in 50-36, while Adam Smith (Team Kirkley Cycles) completed the open podium positions in 51-34.
“I had a few issues with my bike just before my start time, but thankfully I managed to get them sorted in time,” said Wake.
“I had a good idea of what time to aim for, unfortunately I just missed out on a sub 50 minute but good enough to win on the day which I’m really pleased with.”
The women’s event could not have been closer with Garrett and Burnie both stopping the clock in exactly 1-03-02.
Burnie finished third in the Barnesbury CC 21 earlier this month on her first outing of the season and improved on that result this time out.
Completing the women’s time trial bike podium was Adele McAleer (Team VC) who recorded a time of 1-04-01.
In the road bike category Simon Crisp (Gosforth RC) was the only rider to break the hour mark to take victory in 59-25.
Taking second was Noel Stoddart (Allen Valley Velo) in 1-00-19, while Lee Ridden (Reifen Racing) was third (1-00-21).
In the women’s category Sarah Wann (EMC Cycling) was the quickest road bike with her time of 1-05-51 good enough for fourth place overall.
Teri Bayliss (Reifen Racing) finished second in the women’s road bike category in 1-06-34, while Celia Michie (Tyneside Vagabonds CC) was third (1-08-54).
