James Holloway earned his first win of the season with victory at the Lancashire Road Club 10-mile time trial on Saturday evening, with Deborah Moss taking the honours as fastest female.

Riding for Ribble Cycles, Holloway clocked 20-09 to earn his first win in seven rides, dating back to his triumph at the Wigan Wheelers CC 30-mile time trial on August 20 2023.

Holloway’s previous best ride this season came at the Southport CC 15 on April 21, where he claimed the runners-up spot.

His time was enough to see off strong competition from runner-up Thomas Hanlon (Harry Middleton CC) who set 20-52 and managed to narrowly seal second place from Team ASL-Bolton rider Mark Parsons who was just three seconds back in 20-55 to be edged into third place.

In the women’s event Moss again earned victory, with the Springfield Financial Racing Team rider setting 22-05, finishing ahead of the 24-34 set by Hebe Picking (Jadan Vive Le Velo) with Katherine Swithenbank (360cycling) sealing the final spot on the podium in 24-51.

This event, held on course L101, is an out-and-back that starts just north of Garstang and heads northbound on the A6 until reaching the traffic island at Hampson Green after 4.87 miles where riders turn and follow the route back along the A6 to finish just south of the start line.
