David Mead made it eight consecutive victories with success at the Rugby Racing Cycling Club 10-mile time trial, while Diana Egerton-Warburton was triumphant in the women’s event.
Riding for Team Enable – MI Racing, Mead posted 19-33 to seal the win ahead of Ryan Witchell (Royal Leamington Spa CC) in 19-57, while Legato Racing Team LRT rider Mark Hamer picked up third spot in 20-52.
Mead has now won all but one event this season, having last failed to win in the opening time trial of his season finishing third overall at the Northampton and District CA 9.8-mile time trial on April 20.
Since then, he has picked up wins at A5 Rangers Cycling Club 17, Coventry CC 10, Team Milton Keynes 20, Legato Racing Team 10, Melton Olympic CC 10, Legato Racing Team 10-mile time trial and the AeroCoach Midlands Championships 15-mile time trial.
His win also helped Team Enable – MI Racing to claim the team prize.
In the women’s event Egerton-Warburton picked up another win by clocking 23-06, finishing ahead of Alice Edwards from the promoting club who set 25-16 while a time of 26-18 helped Jen Clegg (Team Bottrill) to seal third spot.
Elsewhere, Newbury Velo pair Ian Greenstreet and Rachel Elliot won the tandem category in 19-56.
William Jones (Rugby Racing Cycling Club) was the quickest junior in 27-18 and Tom Walker (West Midlands Police Cycling Club) topping the veteran category in 22-21.
This event, run on the K11/10T course, is an out-and-back circuit that starts just north of Thurlaston and heads northwest on the A45 past Stretton on Dunsmore before reaching Ryton-on-Dunsmore, where riders turn and follow the route back to finish just southeast of the start line.
