Peter Allan claimed his third win of the season with victory at the North Hampshire Road Club 10-mile time trial on Saturday afternoon, with fastest female prize going to Danielle Forshaw.

Riding for Velo Club Venta, Forshaw earned a successive triumph after also winning the women’s category at the Velo Club Venta 10-mile time trial on May 11.

Finishing in 25-09, Forshaw, riding on a road bike, crossed the line ahead of runner-up Gina Brown (VTTA London and Home Counties) who managed 28-04.

In the open event Allan led the field in 19-18, helping the Team Velo Sportif see off a challenge from Adrian Ford (Brighton Mitre CC) who took second place in 19-42, while a time of 19-58 helped Matthew Buckley (Velo Club St Raphael) squeeze home under the 20-00 mark for the final spot on the podium.

Forshaw said afterwards: “I really enjoyed the event and look forward to riding some more time trials this season on the road bike.

“It’s a fair course with not much opportunity for free speed but there is a nice smooth run in to the finish.

“It was a really well run event by North Hampshire RC and thanks to the organisers and all the volunteers. “

After claiming his first ever time trial win at the …a3crg 17.6-mile time trial on March 10, Allan then picked up another success as quickest road bike at the Velo Club Venta 10-mile time trial on May 11 in what has become a productive season.

This event, run on the H10/8 course, starts west of Bentley and joins the A31 to head westbound through Froyle and turning at the Holybourne roundabout, circling the Holybourne roundabout and following the route back on the A31, back past Froyle and finishing just south of the start line.
