George Fox (George Fox Cycling Solutions) and Laura Davies (Jadan Vive Le Velo) won their maiden national titles at the RTTC National Road Bike Championships over 22.4 miles in Cambridgeshire.
Meanwhile, Benjamin Cousins (Verulam Really Moving) and Maia Howell (Matlock CC) were the quickest junior boy and girl respectively.
Despite wet conditions and several roundabouts to navigate Fox posted the quickest time stopping the clock in 46 minutes and 28 seconds.
The NC26 course saw competitors start outside Glatton before joining the B1043 for two out and back laps between Sawtry and Norman Cross.
Fox’s previous best in an individual open championship was fourth in last year’s National Circuit Championship.
He bettered that result on this occasion taking gold and finishing 41 seconds clear of his nearest challenger.
Former World Tour professional Alex Dowsett (Nopinz) won a close battle for second in 47-09, while Alex Pickering (Elysium Kalas Race Team) completed the men’s podium in 47-24.
