Addiscombe CC 25 success for Hourigan and Lindvall

Stuart Hourigan claimed a first win of the season with victory at the Addiscombe Cycling Club 25-mile time trial in Sussex on Sunday morning, with Leena Lindvall finishing as fastest female.

Riding for VeloRefined Rule5, Hourigan set 55-40 – outside of Christopher McNamara’s course record of 52-23 – to take victory ahead of runner-up Pjotrs Suhovs of Paceline RT in 57-40, while a time of 59-43 saw Olly Thomas (Sussex Revolution Velo Club) finish just inside the hour to take the final spot on the podium and claim the prize for quickest road bike.

Runner-up in the road bike category went to Daniel Loveday (Charlotteville Cycling Club) in 1:06-58, with Robert Gilmour (Hounslow & District Wheelers) third in 1:06-58.

This was Hourigan’s first win since finishing top of the standings at the Sotonia CC 10-mile time trial on October 8 last year.

In the women’s event, Lindvall managed 1:17-04 to take the win ahead of Addiscombe CC clubmate Vivienne Inglis, on a road bike, in 1:23-50.

The 25-mile event, held on course G25/43, is a three-and-a-quarter looped circuit that starts on Foxbridge Lane and heads southbound through Mackerel’s Common, bearing east through Kidford and then turning northbound at the Village Road junction onto Skiff Lane, all the way until reaching the junction with Finchfold Farm.

From there riders head west for the penultimate leg to Ifold and then downwards to complete one loop, completing this three more times before continuing on and finishing half a mile south of the start line.
