Elliot Fraser earned his third win of the season at the City Road Club Hull 10-mile time trial on Saturday afternoon, while Jill Speight finished as the fastest female in East Yorkshire.
Riding for 360cycling, Fraser posted 20-12 to stave off competition from Steve Gibson who finished 31 seconds behind in second place with 20-43, while a time of 21-07 helped Spindata pre-race favourite Neil Cleminshaw (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) to third place.
Fraser came into this race in fine form after claiming the open category title at Warrington Road Club 25-mile time trial last month, and the junior continued that momentum here, topping the standings in Hull having finished tenth on the same course last year.
In the women’s category, Speight (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) came top of the leaderboard with a time of 25-40, ahead of Pamela Edgar (City RC Hull) who clocked 26-16 to earn second place, while Edinburgh Road Club rider Liz Ball sealed third with 27-45.
This was Speight’s second time on the course in the space of a month having competed in the 8.5-mile time trial in June, when she finished runner-up in the women’s category.
Fastest road bike went to host club rider Micheal Harrison who recorded 23-56, while the Junior category was won by overall winner Fraser.
This out-and-back 10-mile event, run on the V714 course, begins on the B1230 where it heads west towards Howden, turning on Boothferry road roundabout just outside the market town to finish next to the White Horse Inn east of Gilberdyke.
