Larry Wiltshire upset the pre-race Spindata predictions to secure a second win of the season in the men’s event at the Chichester City Riders 10-mile time trial in West Sussex on Sunday morning, with Keith Mabbott triumphing in the road bike category.

Riding for the promoting club, Wiltshire clocked 21-19 to take the win ahead of Velo Club St Raphael rider Andrew Rivett’s time of 21-36, with Wiltshire’s clubmate James Smee finishing just four seconds back in 21-40 to ensure more club success and take the final spot on the podium.

Having taken the top spot in West Sussex, this is now Wiltshire’s first win since the Maidenhead & District CC two-up team time trial on March 5, and a first solo success since the a3crg Glorious Goodwood 10-mile time trial on a road bike.

In the road bike category, a time of 24-23 helped Mabbott (Royal Navy & Royal Marine Cycling Association) finish top of the standings with Chichester City Rider’s Neil Coxon’s time of 25-49 securing second place and Larry Golland of Rapha Cycling Club earning third spot in 26-10.

This event, run on the P901/10 course, starts on Arundel Road and heads west past Tangmere before turning right on the A285 heading past Strettington Solar Farm then left through Westhampnett then taking two lefts to complete a loop and return eastbound back past Tangmere to finish just west of the start line.
