Marc Cox (Guernsey Velo Club) charged to victory by almost a minute in the a3crg Glorious Goodwood Circuit TT 10, while junior rider Niamh Murphy (Liv CC Halo Cycles) was the only woman competitor.
With the VTTA Southern 10 Mile Closed Circuit Championship being ran as a separate event the a3crg Glorious Goodwood Circuit TT 10 was organised for competitors aged 16 to 39 years old.
Riders competed over 10 miles (four laps) on the Goodwood Motor Circuit and were greeted by very warm and humid conditions on Saturday evening.
Scratch rider Cox won the Welsh CA 25 on his only other open time trial outing in April and continued his winning form this time out.
His time of 19-07 was also the fastest on the West Sussex circuit set so far this year.
Cox’s 23-year-old team-mate Alex Van Katwyk won a close battle for second place stopping the clock in 20-02
Junior rider Bobby Buenfield (Velo Club Venta) was just five seconds further back in a closely fought podium in 20-07 as Michael Renardson (trainSharp) had to settle for fourth a further 10 seconds back.
Guernsey Velo Club also took the team classification with 18-year-old Josh Saunders their third counting rider in sixth place overall (21-10).
In the women’s event junior rider Murphy was the only competitor and stopped the clock in a respectable time of 23-25.
Murphy also won the Bristol South Cycling Club event over 6.8 miles in April and showed her speed once again on this occasion.
