Kevin Chant (Wightlink Wight Mountain Race Team) and Emma O'Toole (DHC (Districts of Hamwic Cyclesport) went fastest in the a3crg Goodwood Closed Circuit 10, incorporating the South District championships.
Chant took his first open time trial in almost two years stopping the clock in a time of 19 minutes and 11 seconds over the 10-mile distance.
The P917/10 saw competitors complete four laps of 2.5 miles around the Goodwood Motor Racing Circuit.
Chant came into the event on top form having finished third in the Utag RT last month posting 18-12 on that occasion.
Samuel Wadsley (Primera-Teamjobs) has three open time trial wins to his name this season but had to settle for second this time out 45 seconds down in 19-56.
A battle for the final podium position saw Adam Dart (GS Mossa) finish in 20-37 which was a single second quicker than quickest veteran on scratch Andy Langdown (a3crg) (20-38).
In the women’s event O'Toole recorded a winning time of 23 minutes 37 seconds over the 10-mile distance.
O’Toole also won the Wessex Road Club 50 last month and showed her speed over the shorter distance this time out.
Rebecca Seal (Fulfil the Potential RT) finished second woman in 24-05 which was 22 seconds quicker than Nicole Allan (Horsham Amphibians Triathlon) in 24-27.
The men’s road bike category was a closely fought contest with the top three riders separated by as many seconds.
Junior rider Matthew Gilmour (Velo Club Venta) took his first open victory of the season stopping the clock in 22-40.
Just a second further behind was Robin Kirk (Velo Club Godalming & Haslemere) in second (22-41), while a further two seconds back was Neil Crofts (...a3crg) in 24-43. The only woman on a road bike was Dawn Cousins (Sotonia CC) who stopped the clock in 35-39
The junior competition formed as a qualifier for the National Youth Championship with Oliver Gill (Poole Wheelers Cycling Club) winning the boys’ event in 21-05.
In a close finish Alec Rowles (Hillingdon Slipstreamers) was just 12 seconds down in 21-17, while quickest juvenile Ewan Cook (Wightlink Wight Mountain Race Team) finished third (22-08).
In the junior boys’ competition on a road bike was juvenile Ivo Thwaites (Southborough & Dist. Whs) in first (25-02) ahead of James Mitchell (a3crg) in second (34-09).
The junior girls’ competition was won by juvenile Grace Upshall (Poole Wheelers Cycling Club) who stopped the clock in 25-30, ahead of Skye Martingale (Sotonia CC) in second (28-36) and Amy Clarke (Surrey Cycle Racing League) finished third on a road bike in (35-38).
